TransAfrika was founded in 2007, primarily as an African–focused gold exploration, development and mining company. It has since expanded it's vision toward precious and base metals. The company’s founders, who have extensive experience in African mining, believe Africa to be highly prospective and have identified some exciting projects in under-explored areas. TransAfrika focuses on countries with stable or stabilising political and economic environments, a history of mining activity, and clear mineral rights legislation.

The company’s directors and executive management are well acquainted with the nuances of doing business in Africa and therefore TransAfrika recognises the need for technical excellence, understanding and abiding by national laws, cognisance of local social needs, and minimising impacts on the environment. TransAfrika is well placed to capitalise on African gold mining opportunities with particular focus on:

• world class discoveries;
• growing investor interest in gold at a time of rising demand and stagnant mine production in the traditional producing centres; and
• a rising gold price.

To identify, develop and market high-value mining assets in Africa by:

• actively seeking exploration or mining opportunities;
• defining economic ore bodies;
• identifying potential buyers of substantial assets; and
• being self-sufficient in early project development funding through operating small mining opportunities.
