Exploration results

Field works is currently focused on the Loulo-Est and Farabantourou permit areas.

Loulo-Est

  • The permit is situated in western Mali in close proximity to the Loulo gold mine and Tabakoto gold project.
  • High tenor gold soil anomalies (up to 6.9g/t Au) over an area of 3.8km by 3.1km have been encountered while good geophysical Induced Polarity (IP) responses have been achieved.
  • 60 reverse circulation holes have been drilled and promising gold tenor intersections have been encountered. The results of selected intersections are tabulated below.
  • First phase Diamond drilling has been completed to investigate the extent, continuity and structural setting of the gold mineralisation. The results of selected intersections are tabulated below.

Farabantourou

  • 40km south of the Sadiola gold mine and 55km north of Loulo-Est.
  • Favourable geological setting.
  • First phase of soil sampling and infill sampling has been completed resulting in the identification of a 3.4km NW-SE striking soil anomaly coinciding with NW-SE striking magnetic highs.
  • First phase drilling of 10 RC drill holes were completed over the targets. Results of selected intersections are tabulated below.
  • IP survey over selected target areas confirmed the NW-SE striking soil anomaly.

Ségala-Ouest

  • Adjacent and south of the Loulo-Est permit, directly west of Avion’s Ségala Gold Project.
  • Reconnaissance mapping has located several old drill holes and old trenches.
  • Trenching near or in old trenches has commenced and is ongoing. Results returned values of 1.38g/t Au over 3m, 1.35g/t Au over 3m and 1.23g/t Au over 4m.

Location map

Mali is the third-largest producer of gold in Africa. TransAfika has five permits in Mali, namely: Dag-Dag, Loulo-Est, Ségala-Ouest, Foulaboula and Farabantourou.
