TransAfrika has rights to 600ha of low-grade chromite-bearing alluvial material 40km north-west of Harare along the eastern leg of the Zimbabwe’s Great Dyke. Considering the potential of its rights, TransAfrika has fast-tracked an exploration programme to ascertain the feasibility of mining this material. Sampling and metallurgical test work was completed. Metallurgical test work by Mintel shows positive results.
